IIRC, someone suggested up-thread that DL might ultimately do away with the tier-specific UG windows and limit awarding UGs to the day of departure.

In effect, they could limit UGs to the day of departure while still retaining the marketing advantage derived from continuing to advertise what would actually be illusory UG windows.
