Looks like Rakuten is offering through third parties long term prepaid sims (1 year), that support receiving SMS and roaming. No outgoing SMS or call functionality. It also does not seem to work with Lawson Tickets. One example: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/ViraDe...dp/B0C4BKWH9F/ (3GB/month for 7860Yen/year, 7GB/m 9680Yen/y, 30GB/m 19980Yen/y).
