5 rows of CE on that morning's 7-year-old A320neo. Things started well with a welcome by name for all Gold members.

The positioning First Officer sitting next to me in 1C removed her headphones for the duration of the safety briefing and paid attention to the crew, and was then served last once the brunch meal service started, seeming surprised that she had been offered a meal at all.

A choice of British roast beef salad or smoked chickpea salad, with a caramel mousse for dessert, served from the trolley along with drinks and warm bread from a basket (which I declined). The chickpea salad was flavoursome but fairly basic overall, and I only made it halfway through the mediocre dessert.

7 rows of CE on that morning's 17-year-old A320.

I was addressed by name for the brunch service, which was served from the trolley with bread pre-placed on trays by the crew. Choices were a British ploughman’s (ironically described as a 'continental meat platter' by the crew) or beetroot tartare, served alongside a dessert of spiced apple with vanilla mascarpone. The ploughman's was passable, whilst the dessert was quite pleasant.

Drinks were hand run from the galley for the first few rows of the cabin, and subsequently served from the trolley with all passengers being addressed by name again. I was offered biscuits with my tea.
