Recently stayed at a Moxy property in India. It was a redemption stay paid fully with points and I am a platinum elite.
At checkin I was asked if I want to pay for breakfast? I asked is it not included for platinum members? The front desk lady says breakfast is complementary for platinum elites only if it is a paid stay. Since my stay was points redemption there will be no platinum member benefits.
Wrote to Marriott after checkout and this is their reply! (TLDR: Marriott says it is upto respective hotels to decide)

Redemptions stays generally never include breakfast. Our members would need to pay extra in order to have breakfast during their stays.
Our properties are operated independently and their policies may vary from one to another. So, it would be up to to our hotel teams to offer free breakfast for our members when they are using points to stay with us.
