I can't really see how. The likelihood of a diversion from EWR to JFK seems minuscule. Not only is JFK slot-constrained, but I'd expect EWR and JFK to have very similar conditions; if there are issues at EWR, there are probably issues at JFK also.
The ATC issues this week at EWR were a prime example of how JFK can be unscathed from EWR issues… and EWR ATC issues seem to have become even more common after the move of EWR airspace control to Philly as opposed to NYC.
