Overall, I think this is much more sensible design than the island was.
I was looking at that last night, and the clearance is certainly there for sub-A320 and B737 aircraft. The open access will require a number of pillars to be removed and would likely allow minor elevation of the track some more…BUT, any significant build would cause chaos as it would stop the SkyLink from circulating.
There is a section where the two tracks are supported independently, which could allow for one way operation to be maintained during the modification of the second track. Less than ideal, but doable with increased frequency.
