I checked in and so far we really like it. I don’t understand why everyone is freaking out.
I will admit the physical structures of the complex certainly have a bit of an “industrial feel” but I don’t think that ruins anything, it’s just an odd choice.
Occupancy: They said they only opened 40% of rooms so far and even as a gold we were upgraded to an ocean view room. Haven’t been here 24 hours yet but it seems pretty empty which is OK with us.
Room: Photos don’t do it justice, the feel of the room, bathroom, etc. feel really high end to me. The balcony is wonderful. It’s huge, overlooks the ocean and pools, has a chair and a chase lounger big enough for 2. I still don’t get the bathtub but it doesn’t take up much space and it looks cool in the photos.
The huge shower that leads to the balcony had 2 rain style shower heads and my 2 year old got a kick out of playing in it like a splash pad.
Food: They provided snack (beers and chips/dip) at 4:30. We ate at Tico Taca and were the only people eating inside the restaurant (it was early) and the food was astonishingly great. We got a grilled snapper (whole fish) that was cooked on wood fire grill and it came with potato’s, we got a grilled prawns entree, added sides, and a kids entree and it came out to about $100. We were satisfied.
Service: There’s tons of people trying to do help you, which is great however they seemed confused about how to do multiple reservations, breakfast benefits, etc. They’re new so I’ll give them a pass a course, but I’d say this is my only complaint.
Beach: Haven’t been in the water yet but the renderings make it look like you have a ways to go to get to the beach but in reality it’s only only steps away. They have really nice cabana beds and they are complimentary.
Any other questions let me know but we’re eager to enjoy the pools, beach, etc. today as yesterday we were just worn out from getting up at 3 AM to travel with a toddler. Some photos attached.
