Reasonable Package

Just stayed here for 3 nights. I saw many negative reviews on the Marriott website but I disagree with them.
The key is to manage expectations. In Japan, hotel prices are proportional to the room size (sqft). If you are expecting a room with space surrounding 3 sides of the bed, expect to pay double the price.
This hotel is actually HOTEL UNIZO Hakataeki Hakataguchi branded as Four Points Flex by Sheraton Fukuoka Hakata. The owner actually operates numerous Four Points Flex across Japan.
It's Double Bedroom is to complete with the famous APA Hotel (notoriously small), hence I booked Twin Bedroom instead.

Pros
  • Twin Bedroom is large enough to fit 2 opened luggage.
  • Twin Bedroom has a view, unlike the Double Bedroom.
  • Housekeeping cleaned my room and tidied the sheets every day, despite that there was a sign saying that housekeeping only happens on every 3rd day of the stay.
I suspect that the extra housekeeping is actually a Bonvoy benefit.
  • Got 3 extra ENC from the 2025 Q1 promo, despite that the regular earning rate is 1 ENC per 2 nights.

Cons
  • No room upgrade. This was expected as they clearly disclosed this practice in the booking page.
Double Room: 151 sqft, Twin Room 194 sqft, Twin Accessible 301 sqft. Asked if Twin Accessible is available for healthy guest. Got denied.
  • No breakfast for members. This was expected as they clearly disclosed this practice in the booking page (500 Welcome Points instead of breakfast).
I suspect that they actually created a subsidiary company just for the breakfast restaurant to claim that the restaurant is a "third party" not covered by Bonvoy terms.
Nonetheless it is just 1600 JPY per person per day for a mini-buffet.
  • Distance quite far from Hakata train station if you are carrying a luggage, but then even the ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka By IHG next door at 3 times the price is not close to the train station.
  • There are emergency vehicle sirens that woke me up, but then the police stations exist in both South West and North West of the train station.

The bottom line: If the price is better than competitor (which is my case), book it. Otherwise, don't pay for the Marriott branding.

Apologies for the messy bed photo.
