1000% this. Booked partner business class flight with cash and unfortunately AS decided to end sfo-ord flying, impacting my ticket but they didint even tell me. Then when i try to get it rebooked im told option is to cancel with penalty (what?!?! Haha). Yeah that’s one way to handle things for your top fliers. I’m sure I can get it worked out in the end but it’s just such a bad operation now.
Finally got this fixed. Took way too long to get AS agents to realize that tickets with EI flights were not award tickets. So AS is selling partner tickets directly now but I would say half of their agents have no idea they are doing it so anytime you interact with them and they see a non-AS airline they just assume its an award ticket. Even after you explain its a revenue ticket they then tell you to call the airline you bought it from which leads to me saying something like "ummm yeah thats why I am here on the line talking to you" and the agent getting super confused. So much for making things easier.
