So I tried stopping my VM (which was NATted) and seeing if I was good...no dice. Had the same issue on all my devices. I think they just had a broken captive portal, because two colleagues were having the same issues.
I'm trying to remember... I think I made it to the first captive portal page, but couldn't get any further.

So I used my phone to do it, and it worked, then immediately shut off the phone's WiFi and cloned the MAC address the phone was using on my router, but no dice. and I tried everything. It was 10pm when I checked in, so I wasn't about to waste time with it.
