April meals

End of the month meal dump

AA2404, BOS-CLT, 6AM, water pdb

AA2222 4/4
CLT-MSP 737-800
Lunch 2B

no pdb but we were delayed since the plane was stuck in LGA. First (and I guess only) time ordering the cheeseburgers, they were pretty good! Rather rich but still tasty. I like the squash appetizer because it mixes well with the salad. The cake was both somehow both too sweet and tasteless.

AA2140 4/6
MSP-CLT 737-800
3B Dinner

Full choice of PDB offered on this empty flight - several non-revs got first and 2E was empty. Pre-ordered the salmon bowl, rip the green beans

AA1937, CLT-BOS, 10:26PM departure. No PDB despite a 20 minute delay for pilots and late connections. Single round of drinks then the crew disappeared.

AA1241 4/10
BOS-DFW 737-800
3B Breakfast

upgraded ~two days before departure, pre-order choices were biscuits and gravy or fruit plate. I ordered the biscuits, but on the day of the flight my stomach felt terrible and I asked to switch to the fruit plate. Excellent BOS crew offered PDB

Different thread but sitting in the exit row I got the last cheese plate going back to Boston

3B, Lunch

No PDB, and interestingly, a smartly-dressed but non-uniformed trainee. Pre-ordered the salmon bowl, first time with the new changes. No green beans (boo) new sauce (meh) and just quinoa (meh) with fruit (?? Booo). The dish felt heavier with fewer greens and I am not sure if I will keep it as much of a go-to. Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Chip for dessert

AA511 4/16
DFW-YYC 737-800
3E Dinner

What luck, parked at C19, walked across the concourse to the Admirals Club, then right back to C19 for the same plane to go to Calgary! PDBs offered then Dinner with excellent service from Linda, standard short rib pre-ordered. After BOS royally effed up my short rib in march it was nice to have it properly done. Mango sorbet for dessert.

3E Lunch.

I almost dedicated a separate post to this, can we please put the Canadians in charge of the salad and appetizer game?!? Highlight of the meal for sure. Not the standard set of options, just chicken adobo or this bland-but-passable pasta on the pre-order with no other options. Honestly am surprised AA bothers picking up catering in Calgary. PDBs were offered.

DFW-XNA (E175, 7PM) was odd - arrived at the gate two minutes after scheduled boarding to find the flight fully boarded. Luckily still found overhead space. PDB were generous and plentiful as there was to be no service in flight, and this time the turbulence was real! (It brought tornados down my road too)

XNA-DFW (E175, 8AM) PDBs offered, nut mix in the air

AA757 4/21
DFW-SEA, A321
3C, Lunch

PDB, short rib, and mango sorbet again

AA757 4/25
SEA-DFW A321
3D, Lunch

Pre-ordered the enchiladas, along with the stuffed pepper they were the options along with the usual pre-order choices. They were tasty but I think they were the vegetarian ones someone hastily added chicken too - these were bean enchiladas with 1-2 pieces of chicken

Fantastic service into the first half of the flight then it completely broke down. Trays were cleared about 75 minutes into the flight (3.5hrs), and no dessert offered. I figured Seattle didn’t load it, but I asked the FA and she said it was coming soon. Another 20 minutes go by and I go to the lav and see her eating a left over F meal in the galley. Chocolate ice cream and cheese were not offered until we were an hour away from Dallas and about 75 minutes after the last lunch trays were cleared.

AA5652 (DFW-XNA, CRJ900) PDBs and full snack basket offered.
