Good that they announced it. Last week they did zero, zilch, nada: crew said I'd be fine (with what then looked like it would be a 15 min N-NS connection, go figure), lady that directed us into the bus said I'd be fine (with 5 minutes left before STD) so I ran all the way across FCO from A bus arrival to E including immigration plus the train ride, only to find that my flight had already pushed back and that the desks were all empty.
Having made my way back with the train, security and immigration again, I was looking for a staffed transfer desk when I got a call from my TA that I'd been rebooked (on LH). Still required the AZ transfer desk to print my new itinerary and the LH desk to issue my BPs.
Fortunately the return was smoother but I'll definitely pass on AZ and a transfer in FCO based on my overall experience.
