I found the Amtrak California crew on all 3 routes to be extremly friendly and go out of their way to make passengers feel comfortable and when the train is full, they explain over the intercom why certain people cant sit in the lower level or at tables (because lower level are for those that cant climb stairs and tables for those in a party of 3 or 4.) Also some of the conductors make jokes about the different station names which ammused pretty much all the passengers (but gets kind of old if your always on the same route) and no age discrimination, infact, some of the crew on some of the routes are actually pretty young too which was different from the non amtrak california routes. But I did go on some trains in the Northeast and yeah, the service is a bit different out there. ^
