I think they ditched the plan because it would cost too much money.
That said, I think using T1 makes much more sense anyway. More space and avoids the schlep outside through Manchester's world famous liquid sunshine. It was much nicer during Covid times to use T1 then walk to the gate inside.
Wonder if this means they’ll repair the travelators from the train station to T1. After all it’s only been over 5 years since they were last working… 🙈
