They weren't going to have any of the types of exceptions mentioned in this thread. In the past most pax, including me, liked the WN system. Now not nearly as much. Why?
1. Gaming the system. Miracle Flights. Saving seats. The internet didn't help.
2. Too entitled. Whaddaya mean I have to line up in order. Why can't I sit there?
3. Too oblivious. I can't be in family boarding with my 14 year old? Why don't I get A group, I paid good money for this ticket.
With seat assignments, FA's will only have to have one answer for any of these "issues": "Look at your BP. That's your seat. I advise you to sit in it."
Your #3 is actually the same as #1 to me!
I loved open seating. Didn't matter to me whether I sit with or without my traveling companions. Besides, I liked picking who I sat next to by seeing them, rather than picking a seat on a chart next to lord knows who!
Oh well! Now I just hope Elliott isn't the demise of SWA!
