They are supposed to be putting new scanners into T3.
That, and shops / lounge building work is why there will be a temporary T1 security usage.

As I've said before, the plan is for Ryanair to use the old Easyjet desks (where Gulf are at present)
But being MAN, if it costs too much, or they find issues, all subject to change.
