Does not work for all routes but the AS flight from SFO-JFK seems to be one example. But oddly enough if you change the originating city to another one (like SEA or PDX) that has a nonstop to JFK, no I fares show up for the dates where SFO-JFK-PAR shows availability. Maybe it's bucket availability because if I shuffle dates a bit I can find PDX-JFK-PAR on other dates. It seems like the AS "first" segment books into "I" as well, so that might make it easier to locate availability on the AS segment prior to searching AS.com. I am maybe a bit of a cheap@ss but I need to get down to $2k or below to want to book on AS.com in part because I am booking for 5 most of the time and a few hundred in savings multiplied by 5 really adds up.
I can't figure it out either. It will pull random stuff that makes you scratch your head, but not the obvious ones. And, if you get more complicated than a standard RT all bets are off. For example, SFO-CDG-SFO is fine, but open jaw in Europe and the whole thing blows up. I can't believe they are forcing people to use their booking engines since it's embarrassing bad.
