Thanks for sharing this. I pounded the keyboard a bit and tried to find out the rhyme or reason behind the routings where AS.com will show "I" fares, no full explanation but they only seem to come up where there is an initial xxx-yyy segment on Alaska that connects to an AA flight to europe. Does not work for all routes but the AS flight from SFO-JFK seems to be one example. But oddly enough if you change the originating city to another one (like SEA or PDX) that has a nonstop to JFK, no I fares show up for the dates where SFO-JFK-PAR shows availability. Maybe it's bucket availability because if I shuffle dates a bit I can find PDX-JFK-PAR on other dates. It seems like the AS "first" segment books into "I" as well, so that might make it easier to locate availability on the AS segment prior to searching AS.com. I am maybe a bit of a cheap@ss but I need to get down to $2k or below to want to book on AS.com in part because I am booking for 5 most of the time and a few hundred in savings multiplied by 5 really adds up.
