I arrive in HKG at 1045 and looking at flying (to BKK) on a 1200 flight. Flights are on two separate tickets - if this was a single ticket I wouldn't have an issue. Can/will Cathay transfer bags? And I assume if the incoming flight is delayed, I have no leg to stand on if I miss the connecting flight?
If you're all on CX or oneworld - inform checkin at point of origin that you have a connecting flight on a different ticket and they should be able to link the bookings and check you in for your onward flight from BKK.
I've tried this before but no guarantees it'll work since you're on seperate tickets
