Yes, this is quite frustrating. As MVP 75Ks living on Kauai, one of the main things my wife and I have been waiting for with the merger is to book extra comfort seats on Hawaiian Airlines mainland flights at booking. The only silver lining is that the next flight that we have booked on Hawaiian is for my wife on July 8, so we still have some time. I hadn't checked the website or FlyerTalk to see the update to "May", so I was on Hawaiian's website yesterday, futilely trying to upgrade her seat.

I'll add that we've had 100% success getting extra comfort seats at T-24 for a few Hawaiian Airlines mainland flights this spring. However, for one itinerary during Presidents Week, we paid to upgrade to extra comfort as I didn't want to take the risk. It was really hard for me to spend money on something that we might have been able to get for free (and are used to getting for free). We've also used Hawaiian miles to upgrade to first class on a couple of flights since the merger.
