Actually both hotels are roughly 15-min drive from TSA and 45-min drive from TPE.

The breakfast buffet at the Regent has become very crowded since COVID. Food quality and service are similar than before, but expect a wait to enter the restaurant and lines at the food stations.

The neighborhood around the Kimpton is much more residential (it was converted from an apartment building after all), but I agree that restaurant-wise, not much difference.

If you’d like to try something new and don’t mind that Kimpton is a pet-friendly hotel, I’d give it a try.
