Basically any other origin in Europe is more attractive than the UK for award tickets. I choose based on four factors:
-Availability
-Tax/fees total
-Easy and cheap to reach from my home
-A place I may wish to visit anyway, so I can do a combination trip
Exactly.
BHX for me is very easy to access and straight to AMS or CDG
Retired so any time is OK
Taxes/fees look way better outside UK so some positioning flight. I'd probably choose this as a paid option
And yes! Do I actually want to go there? Ive had TBS in the radar a while and will be doining a layover there next week, not sure it'll be long enough to decide on a stay...
Obviosly its slightly different in priorities for us all.
OP wanted to burn points not £ I think so just food for thought.
