Seems to be an easy way to get Diamond with SK for top status holders at Scandic. Whereas the top status holders with SK will not get top status with Scandic

.
Who would have known that a second rate hotel chain would would have the upper hand when negotiating with SK !!!!!

Looks like loyaltylobby has been reading the post by link2, no additional information (or source) in that article.
Without having looked much into the friends programme it appears ~7K EUR spend in Norway on Scandic hotels will get you level 6 (or at least keep it, as you earn less starting out at a lower level), and that converts to EuroBonus Diamond. Pretty good deal for those who do spend a lot of money at Scandics. I'm wondering if there could be a target group that stays at scandic but is likely to fly norwegian or whatever is cheaper in Scandinavia, so they are trying incentivise them to fly SAS? Indeed does seem like a better deal for the friends members, than the EuroBonus members. I would probably have preferred fewer diamonds, and not getting scandic status myself, but I guess I'll take it in case I do end up at a scandic.
The redemption rates for scandic hotels can be found here:

I could see myself occasionaly convert 10k EuroBonus points for a night somewhere, like at Gardermoen
