Geez, gotta be careful now with the expression “happy camper”.
(happy camper: Dictionary, Definitions from Oxford Languages: noun, informal, a comfortable, contented person. "I was making a living mopping floors then and I was not a happy camper")
I was ruined for camping MANY years ago during a Winter and Mountain Medicine 2 week training course at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport California (little south of Lake Tahoe). Our 2 or 3 days of Winter/Mountain Survival included a night away from the barracks. Two dentists and I dug a large hole in the snow and covered it with our ponchos or training parachutes. It worked well, I was warm and sleeping well, UNTIL it started raining in the middle of the night and the leak between the coverings was right on top of ME, definitely NOT a happy camper that morning
