Hi all, wondering if anyone has relevant experience.

Last year, I redeemed QR avios for a B6 Mint award - CDG-JFK. Taxes were just over 100EUR, no YR/fuel surcharge was included.

However, I'm going to book AMS-JFK now, and being quoted a whole lot more in fees - including 400EUR in YR. I got this quote after a (painful) phone call and "manual tax calculation process", and also via the website contact form.

Has there been a policy change? Or did I luck out last time? Or do I need to keep calling until I find an agent that prices it without YR?
