There are no other lounges in LAX in Priority Pass (just some non-lounge options like Gameway). The choice is really this or nothing, which I think makes it even more compelling than this or a lounge like The Club with no upcharge. It'll be interesting to see if it's used with a $35 cost - my guess is that they will have to increase the cost in the next 12 months as the lounge is tiny (see below) and they'll likely find the people willing to pay the fee are the ones who are at the airport with 2+ hours to kill and want a full meal and several drinks rather than someone running in, grabbing a bite and a drink, and leaving.

Yeah, apparently it is 4,400 sq ft - smaller than the PHL Centurion and slightly larger than the PHX Sapphire lounge (although it looks like they utilize their space much better than the Sapphire lounge does). Also, I see the charge as VS wanting to cover their costs. Assuming it is same (or essentially the same, maybe minus the champagne), it's got a solid a la carte food menu and premium liquors like Grey Goose and Hendrick's that are hard to find in a PP lounge. I can't see a $25-30 per person fee reasonably covering that, especially after the airport gets their cut.
