A friend works for Marriott. From time to time, she tells me what the rate is at a particular hotel. It often isn't much better than AAA or senior rate. I have a good corporate rate. I often get a better discount with it than she does as an employee. I'm sure it is property dependent and there might be properties where the discount is significant. But I wouldn't count on it.
