Booking flights via AmEx online
I'd never tried to book flights via the AmEx website before, but just took a look this morning to try to find a better routing/price than Centurion travel service is holding for me.
I was tickled to find a great itinerary at a great price. When I first ran the query, it offered several options for connections, but as I tried a few combinations most came back with a message that they were Unconfirmed, so I should select other options.
I finally found one itinerary that showed the flights were available, let me go through the process of entering the traveler's names, selecting seats on one of the flights (other seat maps were unavailable), giving my credit card info, address, delivery options, etc. Final button to click to Pay and Confirm and, bam, I get the message that two of my flights are Waitlisted, and unlikely to be confirmed so I should start over.
Argh! Why did it wait until I was completely through the process until it told me the flights were unavailable? The other unavailable flights were notified at the beginning of the process, so I didn't even go through the entire booking.
Has anyone else used AmEx website to book flights? Should I try again each day this week (my less favorable reservations are being held for a few more days) or would unlikely result in any change?
