My experience from last weekend.
Flying AKL-BNE-SYD
returning SYD-AKL
All in business class.
I had 4 hours in BNE but a cancelled appointment made me lose the purpose of being there. I asked at the lounge if there was a chance to be on an earlier flight (it was 8.30 in the morning, my flight was at 12.30. The staff asked if I had bags checked in which I didn’t, and put me in the 9.15 flight BNE-SYD.
on the way back I was in the F lounge in SYD at 4pm with a 7pm flight, I asked if I could get the 5.30 flight instead. First I was told that I was on a mileage ticket so could not change, when I clarified I was actually in a revenue flight I was quoted AUD 600 for the change, which I kindly declined and kept drinking cocktails before wobbling to the flight.
It seems experiences are not too consistent.
I was a silver member last week when I took these flights, gold at the moment and platinum by the end of this week, but that’s a post for another day in another thread. 😀
