Did 1 night at Sheraton Guangzhou Panyu for the same reason (zoo). Rates are higher than normal as it is the last day of the "Canton Fair - Electronics" (Expo).

Pros

• Upgraded to Suite at 3:30 PM check in. At midnight before, the App only showed Larger Guest Room.
• The Suite has separate living room and dining room. Room is clean and tidy (built 2020).
• 4pm late checkout offered even for the weekend.
• Lounge is not crowded outside of hot food hours.
• There is a kids room on the 5th floor for children around 2 to 4 years old.
• Breakfast included on the 2nd floor or at top floor lounge.
• 20% discount for a la carte at hotel restaurants or Bonvoy members, stacks with Points bonus.
• Location very convenient with ride sharing (DiDi) between the hotel, the malls, and the zoo.

Cons

• There is no hot tub next to the swimming pool on the 5th floor. The pool is not at high floor.
• At the Chinese restaurant, the quality of the ingredient is worse than what you can get outside.
• The attached mall at the backdoor is pretty crappy and not accessibility friendly.

Would stay again.
