ALSO, a separate question, I have to run back to the states for a few days in July BKK-DSM and the cheapest flight has the longest legs on Emirates, which I've never flown. BUT, I do seem to recall they have some special mile crediting agreement whereas they are not a true *A member. If I remember correctly, you can get credit for EK flights if they are flown with the UA EWR-DXB flight.
