I understand what you mean, but to avoid confusion please note that you do not have a "connecting flight" or a "connection time" in Munich. You have two separate tickets, with just over an hour between your scheduled arrival and your scheduled departure on a different airline.
I've changed planes at MUC myself, though always on one ticket. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are just a short walk apart. But even if you arrive from Houston on schedule, it won't be possible for you to clear immigration, pick up your checked luggage, walk through customs, change terminals, and reach the desk of your second airline soon enough to check in on time for your second flight.
