I stayed at TRS Yucatan last Christmas with my wife and parents. We booked TRS Coral (for myself, wife, and parent), and Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres (for my sister's fam. which includes a kid) for this Christmas. I think that tells you what you need to know. Good Wyndham redemption. Not going to be the "best" of anything but, at least TRS Yucatan, was good to very good on everything IMO. As previously mentioned, food was hit and miss, but I never was hungry and often there was something good along with the mediocre, so it worked out fine on that aspect. Wife is vegetarian and I eat mostly vegetarian. Only a couple of times she had to just eat pasta. Most of the time there were at least a couple of options.

As far as "recognizing status" - not in my experience. However, TRS bookings basically have everything included so there isn't much of anything they can upgrade you to - better room perhaps, but we didn't really stay in our room much, and the base room is already great, so that wouldn't make much difference to us. It would be nice if they gave an "upgrade" to family selection with the Grand Palladium booking we have this Christmas since the food options for family select and TRS are definitely better than Grand Palladium only. Even without it though I'm sure we will all have a great time. Don't expect it, but if we get it, great. Hopefully these remain "undiscovered" a bit. They are pretty easy to find availability. Was able to book us this year for the week of Christmas with 2 rooms TRS and 2 room Grand Palladium all with points a few weeks ago. I think Christmas - New Years is pretty much high season for them.
