Holiday Inn Singapore Little India

What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
The hotel is located literally on top of the Farrer Park Station. Also, very close to City Square Mall.

The hotel has 19 floors and is a newer built (but rebranded).
The hotel has two entrances, the main entrance is from a covered driveway. A second entrance is next to “Soul Brew” and right at one of the entrances to Farrer Park Station.

The check-in desks are opposite the main entrance. Three desks are available, and the hotel could be very busy, and the lobby is small and a busy place.

There are three elevators to the guest room and those took some time to reach the floors.

Breakfast is served as buffet in the Gully Restaurant from 06:00 to 10:30. The restaurant and bar is also open from noon to evening serving hot and cold dishes and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and also cater for the pool.
The pool (open from 06:00 to 22:00) is quite large. The whirlpool jets were not working during my stay. On level 12 is the small fitness centre (open 24/7) with a limited number of new but not state of the art machines.
There is also self-laundry microwave and ice machine on level 12 as well.

I arrived at the hotel at 17:20 using grab.
I was welcomed at the front desk asked for ID. There are three desks and all desk were busy, so I had to wait a couple of minutes. The agent asked for my choice of amenity and asked if I like breakfast, points or drink voucher. I went for breakfast and was told, I was added to the list.
The offering on the buffet were a selection of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, and bread in addition to cheese and jam. Hot items were both Western and Asisan (Indian) dishes. Quality was okay, quantity also. Service was okay. The breakfast buffe was restocked frequently, but service in the restaurant lacked a bit.
Breakfast could be very crowded later in the morning; therefore, I recommend to head there before 08:30. Nice, you can sit outside on level 5.

Had a beer at the pool in the later afternoon. The restaurant was not very busy, so I do not know, why they did not manage to serve my ordered second beer within one hour (the first one made it within minutes).

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard Room received this room on a higher (top) floor at the end of the hallway. Two days prior, the app showed Loft Studio, was this was changed on the early morning of the day of arrival (and those room type was no longer bookable).

How are the rooms?
The Standard rooms are small.
The bathroom, had shower, sink and toilet. The small room featured a bed with two bedside tables, a fridge and tea and coffee facilities and a small desk.
Power outlets and USB charging plugs at the desk and at the alarm clock. Air condition was efficient.
The design of the room uses darker colours. The room was clean and showed a little bit of wear and tear, but no serious damages. The bed was comfortable.
Instead of bottled water, there is filtered drinking water available in the bathroom and glass bottles are available. Service at the pool in the evening was a bit slow.

How is the exec. lounge?
n/a

What was good and what was bad?

Good
location is well connected to public transportation and roads.
Size of Pool.

Neutral
Service at breakfast buffet and also restaurant
Rooms are small
Windows could not be opened

Bad
Storage space

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The location is good. Although the rooms are small, they do not appear cramped (but storage space is limited). Rooms seems to be in good condition and offer real but small desk.
I paid for the best flexible rate with 5000 bonus points 202 USD / night. Advanced purchase would have been 155 USD. The best flexible rate for the stay would have been 175 USD / night. Quite high compared to what I used to pay in Singapore before Covid.
Overall, a nice hotel with easy access to public transportation. Rates are not always that low, but it is not a bad choice and if you only need a bed and no club-lounge or large gym, this might be your choice. I would stay there again without hesitation for a short stay.
In so far, I would return

A video from the stay was uploaed on youtube
