I think this is an interesting thread for many reasons. I have never walked from the airport my hotel (and vice versa), but would be open to doing so under the right circumstances (cost savings were large enough, distance wasn't too great . . . probably less than a 15-20 minute walk would be my max). We did consider walking from the stripe in Vegas to the airport (it's a very reasonable walk), but decided against doing so due to the heat.
