I had a weeknight stay at the Federal Pointe Inn recently and thought it was a very good experience. Probably the best Choice hotel I've ever visited.

The property is actually in two buildings. There is the main school building then also a smaller house on the opposite side of the parking lot that they call the Carriage House. I stayed in the "1 Queen Bed, Suite, Different Building", which is obviously in the Carriage House. The way that building is laid out, there are two rooms/suites on the main floor with individual outdoor entries, then the main entry of the house leads directly to a stairway to the second floor, with three rooms with interior entries, including the one I picked. (Not sure how the main school building is laid out.)

The suite was more of a long junior suite. Enter in the bedroom, then a hallway with a large day bed, then a large bathroom at the end of the hallway.

It felt a little bit dated, sort of an antique style, but clean and comfortable. There was apparently only one other room occupied while I was there (off season) and it was very quiet, but you can definitely hear if people are walking around in the building. Might be loud if busy but I had absolutely no problems and slept well. Windows open for fresh air. This was in the middle of a stay of more traditional cookie-cutter hotel rooms so it was nice to have something unique and unusual for a change.

Service was very friendly and prepared. It's more of a B&B style welcome. Personally escorted to my room, with explanations of the facilities and how the separate building works.

Something special was happening with the staff the night I arrived. If I understood correctly, someone who had worked there in the past had unexpectedly arrived to visit, and everyone was very excited. That was a nice atmosphere to walk into, especially after so many indifferent desk clerks on this trip.

There is actually a brew pub in the main building itself. The basement was converted into a long, narrow pub/restaurant. There's a traditional dining room but also an (active, lively) bar in its own room, along with some additional service tables near the bar and a separate private dining room. Had a nice dinner there, food and service both very good.

I would definitely return. Good central location, downtown easily walkable, well-maintained property, service excellent...

EDIT: Looking at the pictures on the Choice site, I think I may have been upgraded to "1 King Bed, 1-Person Sofabed, Different Building"
