Isn't Discover processed internationally on the Diners Club network?

I feel weirdly sad about this merger. I've had my Discover card since the 80s (which it says on the card itself), and I hope they don't convert the card into some Cap One product that says "member since 2025" or something like that. I also find Discover to have by far the best customer service of any card issuer I've worked with - both in terms of the quality of the agents, and also because if I call in and ask for a 0% rate on new purchases, they've generally gone "ok; how about 12 months?"

I had a couple of Cap One cards until recently, but last year I opted to close them because the reward programs didn't offer me anything I don't already have from other cards. After that I tried to apply for their Venture X and was declined because they said I was unlikely to carry a balance (which was very true). I don't get the feeling that Discover will be so customer-friendly for much longer.
