Unfortunately, I venture to guess less than 5% of renters take an actual "video" before driving out of the garage, and less than 1% take a "detailed video". Any video definitely unlikely to show the below "Undercarriage" category, somewhat unlikely to clearly show the "Tires + wheels" category, and as for those "glass cracks" when the pickup area is in the usual darkened garage, unless they are the size of an alligator, unlikely to stand out (even getting a decent photo of those can be a challenge). Don't have a different defensive solution, better than nothing I guess, renting a car shouldn't have to come with such high RISK. You can bet safely that Hertz ain't about to leave a detailed scan and report in every car in the garage and lot, enabling "you" to not only pick your own car but ALSO review this new scan!!!
