Starting new thread to share info on ITA cancellations, re-routing, compensation, etc. Getting an ITA employee on the phone is particularly difficult, complicating the process. I've got flights from FCO to North America and back, with connections to other destinations, so if one or more of the ITA long haul flights is significantly delayed or cancelled, it will get messy.
One specific question if anyone knows: if the ITA flight from NY to FCO is hours late, and you miss the ITA connection from FCO.(same ticket), does ITA arrange overnight accomodation?
Yes they should arrange it but if they don't then (if you are connecting to an EU destination) EU261 duty of care requires them to reimburse you for reasonable expenses.
