Many FAs have company apps on their personal devices too. (I have 12 work related apps on my phone)

I have my work tablet open to the "My flight" app (where FAs can see who sits where, in-flight sales, how many pax are yet to board), we can update the apps during boarding to get last minute data, as well as the 'connect me/TEAMS' app (send messages to the agents regarding seat dupes, overhead bin space issues, pax deplaning, catering issues, delays due to pax taking longer than usual to board), or Inflight Manual.

I will too be on work apps on my personal phone to get flying time, aircraft information (Mx issues) WX info, ATC delays, or hotel information for the layover. I use both my personal phone and work tablet to send FA Reports (late catering, missing food items, dirty glassware, broken carts, etc), ASAP report (self reporting: not doing exit row briefings, being interrupted arming/disarming door duties, not checking emergency equipment, etc.) or a CERS report; reporting a Medical, Disruptive pax, diversion, etc)

I often commute on DL and UA and see their FAs in the aisle (or galley) during boarding with their tablets all the time. Many airlines now use tablets for their in-flight manuals/communications/sales. I can see where pax often jump to conclusions that FAs are playing games, or texting rather than doing their duties.

I had a pax initially 'go off' on me as they thought I was "a lazy FA" for not doing PDBs. He thought I didn't care and was "on my phone" when catering opened up the door and took all of boarding to replace everything. He later apologized as I showed him that I was filing a report (on my personal device) about the late catering and I couldn't do PDBs. I wish that the airline would ensure catering is completed before pax boarding as I never see this type of issue on DL or UA.

It's even more of an issue if the FAA does an audit!
