You are correct, in that a "majority" of flights (i.e., > 50%) are on time.

Another fact is that Alaska underperformed every other mainline carrier in December 2004 for on-time performance. And when you count Express carriers, Alaska was second to last (beating only Comair).

It's understandable why its customers' patience is wearing thin.
