Absolutely, they definitely dumbed down the notification text. "The departure gate for DLxxxx from AAA to BBB has changed...". It's especially lovely to read that at 3:30 AM when you're not fully awake yet but also on your way to the airport, and your heart stops thinking it's a delay or cancellation. They should have the punchline first...i.e., "GATE CHANGE".
And not to be pedantic, and I believe I already mentioned this in the rants/least substantive thread...but the notification text for a delayed flight says something like "your flight has changed." When in reality the flight didn't change at all, just the departure time. That also sent me into a panic the first time I saw the (new) text. I guess maybe in layman's terms "delay" and "Delta changed my flight [time]" could be considered to be the same...but I digress.
