It is especially useful where you cannot even switch devices on cruise lines like MSC. With them, your initial log in with 1 device is locked as the only authorized device for the entire cruise.

Edited to add: I am more accurately using the Android phone as "Bridge-Repeater" than a router I believe. It does not have all the configuration settings of a router.
I assume it is still creating its own network and assigning you an IP on that network, then NATting the connection. So it is acting as a NAT router and what I said applies. Maybe there’s an Android app or customization that lets you change the TTL. I don’t know.
