I would expect that if the demand for transpacific flights is dropping, it'd show up on flights from the West Coast. There're far fewer transpacific flights from the East Coast or Midwest due to the Ukrainian war, so the supply-demand equation is very different there.
This is the first time I've ever seen them drop an entire 2 weeks of close in options since I've started using calendar search. Typically, there wouldn't be award inventory on the domestic flights to the gateway cities on all days (except for 1), so DFW-TYO wouldn't show up even if there were seats on offer from SAN or SFO. Maybe it's some sort of controlled test?
