But Alaska has had problems with issuing QR awards with luggage allotment “attached”. Not sure if it only applies to J tickets, and I think I have seen reports for at least another airline being affected as well.

So I would be weary in general with any AS awards. I think the DOT requires airlines to show any applicable baggage allowance and fees on the ticket receipt, so I would definitely print that.

I am wondering if the AS award ticket fare class could be issued as :
EI :intra european saver fare or Finnair light economy or BA hand luggage only or AA Basic economy ,where there is no checked luggage included.
I had an experience with an award ticket in Brazil ,issued by AA , to fly GOL airlines where no luggage was included.
