Another fun example...
AS JFK-SAN as an (I) fare is about $1400/rt.
oTP = 280, or 19% of Gold qualification.
nTP = 612, or 3% of Gold qualification. (The higher J fare buckets earn 1224/rt.)
But what makes this even more annoying is that if you convert the cash price of the ticket to approximate earn by revenue instead of earn by distance, you end up at about 1000 nTP, so a pretty strong incentive to not book AS or not credit to BA. (AA would earn based on revenue, but AA does not operate a JFK-SAN non-stop.)
