I don't think I've ever slept better in my life than when I had the bedroom balcony door slightly open to let in the sea breeze and sounds of the waves crashing below.
The restaurant is also about as grand as they come. You walk down a few steps from the marble columns of the lobby in to this huge semicircular room with wrap around floor to ceiling windows that lit up the room beautifully on the late summer days I was there.
It's also a short walk from an award winning paella restaurant and several other places that let you dive in to the Basque culture and cuisine.
It's pretty wild that I'd never really heard of Biarritz as a vacation destination until I was looking at places to round out my summer in Europe. Places like this make it worth hoarding your SUAs, and is probably my favorite Hyatt redemption to date. Note though that the SUAs let you book into either the Ambassador Suite or Ambassador Cruise Liner Suites. AVOID the cruise liner ones as they have these weird port style windows and are pretty dark.
