BoSoxFan: A tangental, but funny story...
Back in the 70's, the Red Sox were going through a losing streak. This coincided with a Judge Garrity court-ordered busing. Seeking to change the topic of reporters questions, Bill Lee (Red Sox pitcher) spouted off saying something like, "The only guy in this $#^@ town with any guts in Arthur Garrity."
Naturally, this brought a firestorm of protest, especially from the folks who were not pleased with busing to begin with.
One letter came on the official stationery of a prominent Boston politician, who had some very unambigous remarks and suggestions for the pitcher.
Bill Lee wrote back, "Dear xxxxx, I thought you'd like to know that some complete moron has stolen your stationery and is writing letters to me on it."
