My family will be taking a trip to Thailand in June-July of this year. We have heard alot about the elephant camps and are considering staying in one. Does anybody have any experience with either Mae Sa or the Thai Elephant Conservation Center in regards to staying overnight? Is it a great experience or is it miserable? Is it overrun with tourists (not to be arrogant, as we are tourists)? Is it one of those things that feels 100% commercial?

Any comments on either/both would be well appreciated!
