The weekend in Istanbul was very calm - no protests at all- it seems they have protests on Wednesdays in Istanbul and on Saturdays in other Turkish cities.
The 1 King Bedroom Business Suite was cool and very spacious - however the furniture a bit "old style" - but who cares when you have a Chaise Lounge you can chill in watching the Bosphorus. I also got an additional city view in the entrance area.
On my birthday I found my bed full of Happy Birthday balloons and got a tiny flower pot and birthday greeting card from the hotel.
I had three rooms reserved - one cash rate for my sister and brother in law into a Premium Sea View and one for my nephews (City View Twin Bed reward room). One of them brought a friend and we got a rollaway bed extra for free. I also booked the club upgrade for my nephews room (3 people) and they waived it for two nights (no clue whether that was an error or not). So we all had breakfast included in the restaurant. Club didn't serve breakfast at that time.

Everyday I received a fresh fruit plate and chocolates or a muffin - as well as plenty of water bottles. On the last day I had about 4 full large bottles and about 10 small bottles standing around

The suite had an extra guest toilet and in the bathroom there was a bathtub with shower and an extra shower.
Afternoon tea service was bit meh - two very tiny canapes, two tiny petit fours and two Turkish savory cookies. Happy hour features a small buffet with soup, two hot bites (changed daily) and a salad buffet, cheese plate and the canapes and petit fours from afternoon tea. Club staff not too attentative, but also catered for special demands - like providing a bowl of hummus or a glass of ayran.
